About Mythic Lane Battler
Mythic Lane Battler is a real-time strategy card game with a roster drawn from Indian mythology. You and a computer opponent each hold four cards from an eight-card deck and send units like Nagas, Yakshas and Apsaras down two lanes toward the other side's towers.
Each side has a tower in each lane and a capital behind them. Destroy the enemy capital to win. If neither capital falls before time runs out, the side that has knocked down more lane towers wins, and an even count is a draw.
How to play
- Click a card in your hand to select it, then click the top or bottom lane to deploy it.
- Cards cost prana, which refills over time up to 10. You start with 5, and prana comes in twice as fast in the last 30 seconds and in overtime.
- A played card goes to the back of your deck and the next one takes its place.
- The capital cannot be damaged until one of the lane towers on its side has fallen.
- Matches last two minutes plus up to one minute of overtime.
- Your deck: Naga (spawns three), Rakshasa Brute, Gandharva Archer, Kinnara (heals nearby allies), Yaksha Guardian (bursts on death), Apsara (briefly turns enemies to your side), Yali (goes for buildings) and the Brahmastra spell, which hits an area of the enemy half.
How it's built
The game logic is a deterministic simulation written in plain TypeScript. It runs at 30 ticks per second, uses a seeded random number generator so the same inputs always give the same match, and has no dependency on React or the browser, which makes it easy to unit test. A Canvas 2D renderer draws the placeholder graphics on top. The build log compares this design with the Phaser approach used for Duck Samurai.
